I'm an IC, obviously the name, and I think IC's are whats keeping this damn company in business!! Everyone complains about us! You dont understand the shit we go through! We are slaves in the eyes of this damn company! All management does is complain all day long about shit we aren't doing to our "owners,"as if the $7.50-$14.00 an hour pay is not worth paying us!? Fucking idiots always say "Your owner gets payed bank for you guys!" Thats big time BS! I've seen the contracts! And you want more work out of me?!? Fuck you! Im not moving to your front office to dispatch from there! No, it wont help you if I'm there, because you have a dmd(mobile dispatch computer) over there yourself!! I'm not gonna have everyone hate me because you can't grow balls and work your damn self, with youre over $20 an hour paycheck! fuck you!! You know better than to fuck with us! You used to be a driver too, with less stops f i might add!! You didn't earn your spot, DHL gave it to you because they wanted to save money, thinking you already knew the system! And when your boss wants to give you more work to earn your money (cancel regs, work attepmted deliveries, and tell our owners shit) dont try to pass it to us and tell us not to do a half ass job!! I hope whe shit goes down all IC's get jobs fast and easy, and get the jobs they deserve(good ones with excellent paay and benifits)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u know i have been reading this garbage for a while now. so i thought i would put my 1/2cents worth in.. i was an orginal dhl employee.. dhl was a co i was proud to work for. i think the biggest mistake is when dhl took over airborne they left the airborne mgmt in control.. this mgt was on the verge of airborne being shut down due to their terrible mgmt. dhl should of kept their people in upper mgmt and maybe this would not have happened. i had said from day one that dhl would go under by keeping ic contractors because they are only getting what they are paying for. these guys get paid nothing near what i made as a dhl driver. i took pride in my job but i was one of the unlucky ones that was let go. that is simply business. the next mistake was ground. i have seen where u all think it is crazy to go intl only but i see the sense behind it. would u rather make $72 on a letter going to africa or $4 on a letter going somewhere in us? intl is where the money is. we had only wanted intl only our sales people then was instructed to go for intl only nothing else.. we was in fine shape then we picked up the crap of ground when dhl bought out airborne. with sales going out and making deals to ship stuff for next to nothing ground.. ex dell less than $5 a box... i had also said from day one of dhl/airborne merge that dhl would have to take back over in order to get control. go back to dhl drivers that are drugged tested. also ones where if u make a mistake then u go thru the verbal warning, written warning and then fired.. if the same mistake is made with another driver or could not be corrected then that station mgr is held accountable and they are fired.. that was what old dhl was about..
but again that is just my thinking..

I was at a small station, and was at $12.91 at the end. Doesn't sound like much now, but it was great 5 years ago.

Yeah, that is good! I'm less than a dollar under that now, after IC and station hopping. Two stations, three ICs in 7 years.

Airborne Express made a ton of money before the merger.
They had to because so much was being taken by the big guys, those thieves.
(ask my PALadin)
Airborne $ for the record....$60k/yr
Pretty much the same this time too.

DHL will work with a smaller number of IC owners in the future as long as possible . they are hoping to weed out the IC locations that do not adjust to the recent changes. IC locations will close just like some company stations will. we will see route reductions across the board. some ICs will grow in size. some will go away forever. i am also a IC but over my almost 10 years doing this job i have had the chance to get to know many company and union employees so i understand some of the " union talk " . no matter what way its spoken or typed, the loss of jobs is not what i want to see in the future. Union or IC

I know the cutbacks are happening everywhere, weve had to cut a couple of routes here big station, three ICs, plus a few DHL people have been let go. But I dont think that the Teamsters are going to allow the office staff to be replaced by ICs too.
